Foundation Announces 2008 Planning Grant Recipients
Six Grantees will receive master plans for their soccer field construction projects from the U.S. Soccer Foundation and Clough Harbour Sports

U.S. SOCCER MOURNS THE LOSS OF BILL GOAZIOU
CHICAGO (May 1, 2008) — U.S. Soccer today is mourning the loss of long-time Board Member Bill Goaziou, who passed away on April 30th at the age of 68 after battling emphysema. A four-term U.S. Soccer Treasurer, he had been involved in soccer as a coach and an administrator for more than 25 years.
Goaziou first took office in 1994, and was re-elected three times as U.S. Soccer Treasurer (in 1998, 2000 & 2004). He previously had been treasurer of the U.S. Youth Soccer Association (USYSA), treasurer of Florida Youth Soccer, a member of the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Board of Directors and chairman of the Youth Budget and Olympic Development Program Committees.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 3 p.m. at the Ridgewood Lakes Club House in Davenport, Fla. Per a request from the Goaziou family, in lieu of flowers friends and family can make a donation to the Foundation in his honor. The 2008 Grant Awards Announced!
The U.S. Soccer Foundation, the Major Charitable Arm of Soccer in the United States, is pleased to announce that it has made $1.47 million in funds available to 50 groups in 27 states as part of its 14th annual grants program.
