Gifts of Life Insurance

Life insurance is an important estate-planning tool. As they get older, many people find that their assets have grown to an extent that their existing policy is no longer needed to protect their family, business or other beneficiary.  In that case, transferring the ownership of the policy to the U.S. Soccer Foundation with the Foundation becoming the named beneficiary provides a significant benefit to the programs of the Foundation and may also provide estate or gift tax benefits to the donor.  Your tax attorney can provide you more information about this possibility.

It’s also possible to make a contribution to the Foundation by naming the Foundation as the primary or backup beneficiary of a new or existing policy without transferring ownership of the policy to the Foundation. If the proceeds of the policy are ultimately paid to the U.S. Soccer Foundation, your estate is entitled to an estate tax charitable deduction.
