(Local Investments in the Future of Every Child)” Act. This bill (H.R. 6258) attempts to comprehensively address the unique barriers to eradicating childhood obesity in underserved communities. It provides targeted resources to these communities which have disproportionate rates of childhood obesity, including funding to support programs which specifically use youth sports as a means of combating obesity as well as promoting the reclamation and reuse of abandoned properties for public recreation spaces.
