Annual Grants Program

The U.S. Soccer Foundation annually awards grants to support both soccer programs and field building initiatives in underserved areas nationwide.


Grant Types

Program Grants - Awarded to organizations in need of uniforms, goals, and training equipment, and support for operational and program costs. Organizations receive up to $50,000 per award.

    • All equipment is provided by Eurosport. Equipment includes shoes, shin guards, uniforms, traveling goals, balls, cones, etc.
    • Soccer goals are provided by PEVO.
    • General program and operational costs include transportation and travel (excludes expenses for professional games), facility rental, training, evaluation, staff/coach stipends.


Field Enhancement Grants
- Awarded to assist organizations with every stage of the field-building process, including irrigation, sports lighting and modular surfaces (Sport Court). Organizations receive up to $65,000 per award.


Synthetic Field Building Grants
- Awarded to organizations interested in installing FieldTurf, a synthetic turf surface, in areas that lack safe places to play. Organizations receive up to $200,000 per award.


Planning Grants
- Awarded to help organizations develop a full-scale concept plan for executing a field-building project. Organizations receive up to $8,000 per award. Planning Grants are provided by CHA Sports.

 

Annual Grants Cycle

The Annual Grants cycle will open Fall 2012. Applications will only be available online and must be submitted via the U.S. Soccer Foundation's website. The application will not be available to view until the Annual Grants cycle is open. 

 

Eligibility Rules

To be eligible for a Program Grant, you must:

  • Apply on behalf of a program or project operating in the United States
  • Be a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, school, municipality, college or university, or sovereign tribal nation
  • Apply as, or on behalf of, a soccer specific program or field building project

                           

To be eligible for a Field Enhancement or Synthetic Field Building Grant, you must:

  • Apply on behalf of a program or project operating in the United States
  • Be a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, school, municipality, college or university, or sovereign tribal nation
  • Apply as, or on behalf of, a soccer specific program or field building project
  • Own, or have a minimum of 10 year land lease/land use agreement on, the land where the field building project will take place
  • If applying for Sports Lighting, you must have a written authorization from the community where the field building project will take place to add lights to the field(s)
