Charitable Gift AnnuitiesA Charitable Gift Annuity allows you to make a gift to the U.S. Soccer Foundation while providing yourself or someone you designate with an annual income in the form of guaranteed payments for life to you or someone else. You also get a charitable income tax deduction, partially tax-free annual payments and a possible reduction in your estate taxes. How the Charitable Gift Annuity WorksA gift annuity is a contract between you and the U.S. Soccer Foundation pursuant to which you make a gift to the Foundation of at least $5,000 and the Foundation contracts to pay you or someone you designate a guaranteed sum for life from its investment of the funds you and others have provided. Upon your death, the Foundation then will use your gift of the remaining funds to support its various programs. How the Charitable Gift Annuity Benefits YouA gift annuity is similar to a commercial annuity offered by a private company like an insurance company. But a charitable gift annuity offers you several tax benefits in addition to allowing you to support the growth of the game of soccer. Of immediate benefit, you receive a charitable deduction from your income taxes for up to 60% of your gift, depending upon your age and the amount of your annual payment. You also avoid a major portion of any capital gains taxes that would be owed on a gift of stock or real estate that has appreciated in value, and your estate will avoid all or a large portion of the estate taxes that would otherwise be owed on the gift at your death. In addition, a portion of the amount you receive each year is free from income taxes. |
