Who Organizes Drives

We encourage and enable individuals to give back by organizing Passback collections of their own, demonstrating that one person or group can truly make a difference.

Passback is a fantastic Program for individuals who are looking for Community Service hours. Whether you have a requirement for school, are looking for a Tikkun Olam project for your Bar or Bat Mitzvah, or are trying to get your next Boy or Girl Scout badge, Passback is a simple way to satisfy your requirements while having fun and doing something great for your local community.

Need some inspiration to get started on your collection? Here are some examples of how you can get involved:

  • Bar or Bat Mitzvah: Ask your friends and family to bring a piece of equipment or make a donation at your celebration.
  • Birthdays: Ask for donations in lieu of gifts for your next birthday.
  • Boy Scout Projects:
Star Profile: Tanner King - Tanner set out to collect equipment in order to earn his Eagle Scout Badge and ended up collecting 2,118 pieces - one of the most successful collections in the history of the Passback Program! The equipment was distributed to Barrick Elementary School, the Cypress Fairbanks ISD Soccer Start Program and the Houston Dynamo.
  • Church Collections: Work with members of your church to collect equipment.
Star Profile: Nicholas and Keri Karidis, of Juventus PFC, held a Passback Collection at the First Baptist Church in Maryville, IL. With donations from their club and others in their community, they amassed 1,000 pieces of equipment and sent it to an ophanage in Zambia affiliated with their church.
  • College Soccer Collections: Donate last year’s uniforms and unused soccer equipment to children in need!
Star Profile: NYU Women’s Soccer Team - In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the New York University Women's Soccer Team, organized by Assistant Coach Vanessa Scotto, collected 250 pieces of equipment and donated it to the Louisiana Soccer Association to help children continue to enjoy the game of soccer despite the disaster. "We believe that soccer is an excellent way to help thousands of displaced children transition comfortably into their new communities," said coach Scotto.
  • Girl Scout Projects:
Star Profile: Girl Scout Troop 377 of Lemont, Illinois organized a Passback drive to collect new and gently used equipment for their Girl Scout Silver Award project. The girls created posters and flyers to put up all over town, placed drop boxes in the Lemont Library and Lemont Park District building, and even wrote a press release to be published in the local paper. The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) in Lemont helped by including the Troop’s flyers in their bi-monthly newsletter. Since AYSO soccer players get new uniforms every year, this turned out to be a huge success. Altogether, Girl Scout Troop 377 collected an amazing 862 pieces of equipment and with the help of Eurosport, sent it to Carolina for Kibera, an organization benefiting children in Kenya.
  • School Community Service Requirement: Are you looking for a fun way to get community service hours for school? Combine your love of soccer with giving back by organizing an equipment collection.
  • Tournaments: Your next soccer tournament is an ideal place to set up a Passback collection. Set up a booth and bins near the registration tents for people to donate their gear.
Star Profile: West Chester United Soccer Club - For four years in a row, the West Chester United Soccer Club has collected equipment for Passback at The West Chester Summer Classic, held in West Chester, PA. With support from many of the teams participating in the tournament and countless tournament volunteers, the Club has collected several thousand pieces of equipment in a few short years. The equipment has been donated to several organizations, including The William Trippley Foundation, Starfinder Foundation, Philadelphia Area Girls Soccer (PAGS) collection effort for the Carribean and Central America, and 2 schools in Ghana.
