2010- 2011 Let's Move! Passback TourOver the course of one year, the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Passback Tour traveled to 25 underserved communities in support of the First Lady’s Let’s Move! campaign. The Tour provided free soccer clinics to 4,117 children, with the help of 252 local soccer coaches who graciously volunteered their time. Kids played nutrition-based soccer games like “Junk Food Pit” and “Five Food Groups” and received a healthy snack to further encourage living a healthy lifestyle. All youth participants received a free soccer ball and t-shirt.
Through partnerships with 25 different health fairs, 21,897 health screenings were also provided to participating children and their families. The health screenings included blood pressure and cholesterol readings, vision, dental, bone density checks and more. Through the Passback Tour, the U.S. Soccer Foundation continues its legacy of providing youth in underserved communities with structured physical activity, nutrition information and connections to local soccer programs to encourage living a healthy lifestyle.
